THE PRIZE<\/h3>\n

IL PREMIO<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

PREMIO COMBAT PRIZE was born with the purpose of investigating the most interesting ideas in international contemporary art.
\nThe name COMBAT draws its conceptual inspiration from combat films, videos shot by American military cameramen during World War II battles. Combat films, often shot on the frontline and live, filmed the horrors of the war to document and show to the American people – not yet used to reality TV \u2013 what was going on, including the most bloody events.<\/p>\n

\n

PREMIO COMBAT PRIZE shares the same objective, which is maybe ambitious but certainly effective from a cultural viewpoint: to go to the frontline to search for different trends in the international art world and to document at the same time the new artistic languages as they develop. PREMIO COMBAT PRIZE represents a new kind of research model based on a cultural discourse which is free from any commercial constrictions.<\/p>\n

Through artistic research, PREMIO COMBAT PRIZE promotes a useful and non banal \u201ccomparison-clash\u201d, a sort of cultural battle that is really vital and necessary in these uncertain times.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Il PREMIO COMBAT nasce per avviare un’indagine tra le pi\u00f9 interessanti proposte della realt\u00e0 internazionale dell\u2019arte.<\/span>
\nIl nome COMBAT prende ispirazione concettuale dai combat film, filmati realizzati da cineoperatori militari americani durante i combattimenti della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, in cui venivano filmati spesso in prima linea e in diretta gli orrori della guerra per documentare e mostrare alla popolazione americana – non ancora certamente preparata a questa tv verit\u00e0 – ci\u00f2 che stava succedendo, compresi gli episodi pi\u00f9 cruenti.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

La finalit\u00e0 del PREMIO COMBAT ha lo stesso obiettivo forse ambizioso ma senz’altro efficace dal punto di vista culturale: scendere in prima linea per cercare i diversi percorsi all’interno del panorama artistico internazionale ed al contempo documentare cosa sta succedendo nei linguaggi contemporanei. Il PREMIO COMBAT rappresenta un nuovo modello d’indagine basato su di un fare cultura slegato da ogni discorso prettamente commerciale.<\/span><\/p>\n

Il PREMIO COMBAT promuove dunque attraverso la ricerca artistica, un confronto-scontro proficuo e non banale, una sorta di combattimento culturale pi\u00f9 che mai necessario e vitale nell’attuale incerto periodo storico.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Syntropy is opposed to entropy and indicates the tendency in nature to create differentiated and ordered structures, as seen in biological phenomena and human activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCosmic Syntropy\u201d is an experimental project held at CNR\u2019s \u201cDario Nobili\u201d Library in Bologna, in collaboration with Arts at CERN, a programme aiming to forge closer links between art and science by CERN in Geneva, Europe\u2019s nuclear research organisation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The collection of artworks created for the \u201cCosmic Syntropy\u201d project includes performances, documentary videos, and installations.<\/span><\/p>\n

La sintropia si contrappone all\u2019entropia, e indica la tendenza alla creazione in natura di strutture differenziate e ordinate, tipica dei fenomeni biologici e delle attivit\u00e0 umane.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCosmic Syntropy\u201d \u00e8 un progetto sperimentale ospitato all\u2019interno degli spazi della Biblioteca \u201cDario Nobili\u201d del CNR di Bologna, nato dalla collaborazione con Arts at CERN, il programma dedicato al dialogo tra arte e scienza del CERN di Ginevra, l\u2019organizzazione europea per la ricerca nucleare.<\/span><\/p>\n

Il gruppo di opere realizzate per il progetto \u201cCosmic Syntropy\u201d include performance, i relativi video documentali, e installazioni.<\/span><\/p>\n

THE PERFORMANCE: participatory art<\/h3>\n

The \u201cCosmic Syntropy: Water\u201d performance, held on 3 February 2024 to coincide with the inauguration of the exhibition, is the second participatory <\/strong>performance in the project. The performance begins with the paradigms of the first (link here<\/a>), but builds on it by entering into dialogue with citizens<\/strong>, who are thus brought into the artwork, creating a \u201cparliament of human beings\u201d staged by the artist.<\/strong> The duration of the performance depended on the audience: the rule was that the artist would stay as long as even one person was there. The performance lasted five and a half hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

The entire performance was recorded and a documentary video is now available at the artist\u2019s archive (duration 5:37:14 h).<\/span><\/p>\n

La performance \u201cCosmic Syntropy: Water\u201d realizzata il 3 febbraio 2024, in concomitanza con l\u2019inaugurazione della mostra \u00e8 il secondo atto performativo del progetto, di natura partecipativa<\/strong>. Una performance che parte dai paradigmi della prima (link qui<\/a>), ma si sviluppa in dialogo con la cittadinanza<\/strong>, che per l\u2019occasione diventa protagonista dell\u2019opera d\u2019arte<\/strong>, del \u201cparlamento di esseri umani\u201d messo in scena dall\u2019artista<\/strong>. La durata della performance sarebbe dipesa dal pubblico: la regola \u00e8 che l’artista sarebbe rimasta finch\u00e9 ci sarebbe stata anche solo una persona. La performance \u00e8 durata cinque ore e mezza.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L’intera performance \u00e8 stata ripresa ed \u00e8 stato prodotto il video documentale ora presso l’archivio dell’artista (durata 5:37:14 h).<\/span><\/p>\n
