Above images: ‘You are drinking dinosaurs’ pee #4′ 2024, glass bottles, labels, water, various sizes <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The “Dinosaurs’ Pee” series, with its deliberately provocatory title, aims to make the viewer reflect on how intricately mankind is interconnected with every other object in nature, whether animal or plant, stone or meteorite. \u00a0These connections extend beyond our current existence, reaching back throughout the entire history of the Cosmos. Science usually states ironically that “you are drinking dinosaur’s pee” to explain the origin and continuous internal recycling of our vital element. The concept behind the series takes its cue from Lavoisier’s precept “Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed,” and from the realization that the water flowing on the Earth today is the very same water that there has always been, since water was first formed, used and recycled forever, by all creatures who have ever inhabited the Earth.<\/p>\n The work consists of a collection of bottles, each the same shape and size, bearing labels describing the origins of their contents. Each bottle contains clear water, and each label indicates its source. La serie \u201cDinosaurs\u2019 Pee\u201d, dal titolo volutamente provocatorio, riflette sulle connessioni tra il microcosmo umano e il macrocosmo terrestre, sul rapporto tra il genere umano e il mondo naturale, spesso interpretate come entit\u00e0 distinte. La Scienza \u00e8 solita affermare con ironia che “l’acqua che beviamo \u00e8 la pip\u00ec dei dinosauri” per spiegare l’origine e il continuo riciclo interno del nostro elemento vitale. La riflessione rompe volutamente la sfera temporale, risalendo, grazie al titolo, all\u2019inizio della storia della Terra. Il tema centrale della serie parte dagli studi di Lavoisier e cita simbolicamente le sue parole: \u201cNulla si crea, nulla si distrugge, tutto si trasforma\u201d. La scienza ha dimostrato che l\u2019acqua presente oggi sulla Terra \u00e8 la stessa dalla genesi, poich\u00e9 creatasi in modo endogeno ed esogeno (particelle provenienti dal Cosmo), e costantemente caricata e depurata dalla natura di elementi esterni.<\/span><\/p>\n L’opera \u00e8 formata da una raccolta di bottiglie della stessa forma e dimensione che reca etichette con diverse scritte. Ogni bottiglia contiene acqua trasparente, e ogni etichetta indica l\u2019origine di tale acqua. About 121,000 cubic meters of water fall on the earth in the form of precipitation every year. While fossil fuels dissipate once burned, water, on the contrary, remains forever. The Mesozoic era, the age of the reign of the dinosaurs, lasted about 186 million years. Humans, by contrast, have inhabited this planet for a mere 200,000 years. The series was born from the reflection on this most important component for life on Earth, the element that allows life to exist, and in which all life has been immersed since its embryonic state: water. The installation brings together the most diverse varieties of water, differentiated by their origin, but united by their common molecular makeup. What you can see inside each bottle is simply crystal-clear water.<\/p>\n La quantit\u00e0 d\u2019acqua presente sulla terra \u00e8 rimasta la stessa da milioni di anni. Circa 121 mila metri cubi d\u2019acqua cadono sulla terra, sotto forma di precipitazioni, ogni anno. Se i combustibili fossili una volta bruciati si dissolvono, al contrario l\u2019acqua resta per sempre. L\u2019era mesozoica, regno dei dinosauri, \u00e8 durata circa 186 milioni di anni. Per contro, gli esseri umani abitano il pianeta terra da 200mila anni. \u201cLe molecole che compongono l\u2019acqua sono talmente resilienti che potrebbero persino avere milioni di anni\u201d cos\u00ec afferma l\u2019autore di \u201cThe Big Thirst\u201d Charles Fishman.<\/span><\/p>\n La serie nasce dalla riflessione sul componente pi\u00f9 importante per la vita sulla Terra, l\u2019elemento che permette la vita, e nel quale la vita \u00e8 immersa sin dallo stato embrionale: l\u2019acqua. L\u2019installazione riunisce le pi\u00f9 svariate qualit\u00e0 di acqua, differenziate per loro provenienza, ma accomunate nella componente biologica pi\u00f9 profonda. Quello che si pu\u00f2 vedere dentro a ogni bottiglia \u00e8 semplicemente acqua cristallina.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n ‘You are drinking dinosaurs’ pee #2′ 2023, glass bottles, labels, water, 100x92x100 cm<\/span> <\/p>\n The installation represents a reflection on the web of interconnectedness that spans a planet which seems enormous from the perspective of the human microcosm, but if we step back and observe it within the vaster Cosmic context, may be seen as a mere \u201cdrop in the bucket\u201d, so to speak. With this change in perspective comes an appreciation for relativity, providing another reminder that we are indeed merely specks made up mostly of water, inhabiting (as Sagan so beautifully phrased it) a \u201cpale blue dot\u201d \u2013 also consisting primarily of this life-giving element.<\/p>\n Una riflessione sui nessi all\u2019interno di un pianeta percepito enorme dal microcosmo umano, ma poi ridimensionato nella relativit\u00e0 dei suoi componenti e del suo elemento vivifico.
