Riflettendo sull’anno appena passato rivivo momenti di forti emozioni, in particolare riguardanti le mie partecipazioni a mostre di grande rilievo, in Italia e all’estero.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In January I started my year with an incredible Mexican adventure. My first exhibition in Mexico, in an amazing gallery that now represents my work: THR Atelier Galer\u00eda,<\/strong> in Valle de Bravo-Av\u00e1ndaro. Mexico, a country that has welcomed us with open arms and enriched us with its cultural heritage: the Mayan and the Aztec cultures, a history that is vivid in every step you take, and people living such a different life from our own. Shapes, colors and lights are so different compared to those we are used to. Such new eyes opened to a new world have given us fresh inspiration and many ideas for our new projects.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A gennaio si \u00e8 cominciato l’anno con l’incredibile avventura messicana. La mia prima mostra in Messico, e presso una bellissima galleria che da quest’anno ha cominciato a rappresentare il mio lavoro: THR Atelier Galer\u00eda<\/strong>, Valle de Bravo-Av\u00e1ndaro. Il Messico, un paese che non solo ci ha accolti a braccia aperte, ma che ci ha arricchiti di un bagaglio culturale senza precedenti: la cultura maya e azteca, la storia in cui si inciampa a ogni passo, le persone dense di esperienze tanto diverse dalle nostre, le forme, i colori, le luci, cos\u00ec diversi dai nostri abituali, sono stati capaci di apportare tanta ispirazione e tante riflessioni per i nostri nuovi progetti.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In February I began working with Luca Gamberini<\/strong>: he is my favorite Bologna poet, with whom a deep intellectual connection was born. We organized a one-night exhibition in the Feltrinelli Bookshop in Bologna for the presentation of his book \u201c \u201c100 grams of Love. (Should I leave it on the scale?)\u201d. From this window each one of us is able and has to look inside to lose then rediscover themselves, not to understand the meaning at all costs but to know and to establish a synergy with another kind of sensitivity so as to go backwards to the essence of an artwork, a way to amplify our the way we feel and more keenly appreciate the feelings of the artists who give back to reality more than they take from it.<\/span><\/p>\n The curator Valentina Luzi defines my work as \u201cthe apex of the interaction when moving through the exhibition\u201d, a \u201cwindow of stars that brings together Nature, Mind and Body together in communication with each other but does not leave out science, philosophy and sociology. Using glass, mirrors and LED lights, the work creates a passage to another dimension. Starting from the scientific representation of the universe, in this case a star map, the artwork is backed by accurate technical, aesthetic and cultural research, to achieve communication that is at once artistic, emotional and intense. My experiences and stories are internalized and told through the way I feel space-time, in a continuous ebb and flow between macro and micro cosmos. We can all stand and look through the \u201cportal\u201d, \u201cinfinity\u201d, as the artist says, and gaze into ourselves.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n L\u2019arte \u00e8 la finestra introspettiva sulla nostra interiorit\u00e0.\u00a0Una finestra da cui ognuno di noi pu\u00f2 e deve guardare per perdersi e ritrovarsi, per comprendere non il significato a tutti i costi, ma per conoscere ed entrare in sinergia con una sensibilit\u00e0\u00a0altra<\/em>, per compiere un percorso a ritroso fino all\u2019essenza di un\u2019opera d\u2019arte, mezzo che amplifica il sentire nostro e degli artisti, i quali restituiscono alla realt\u00e0 pi\u00f9 di quello che prendono da essa.<\/span><\/p>\n La curatrice Valentina Luzi definisce l’opera come “l’apice dell’interazione nel percorso espositivo”, ” una \u201cfinestra\u201d di stelle che mette in comunicazione la Natura, la mente, il corpo, ma anche scienza, filosofia e sociologia. The idea was born as homage to Leonardo Da Vinci and his incredible mind that produced artistic and scientific masterpieces. The presence of Pierdomenico Memeo meant the discussion focused on the cohabitation and collaboration between two human cultural spheres: art and science. The latest works from my studio were there in the show room during the conversation and will be on display until 11 November. Grazie a Pierdomenico Memeo la discussione ha avuto come tema principale la convivenza e la collaborazione tra queste due incredibili materie umane: arte e scienza.\u00a0Durante la conversazione e fino all’11 Novembre \u00e8 stato possibile osservare nello stesso show-room le nuove opere uscite dal mio studio, insieme alle nuove ricerche che sto portando avanti e che ho condiviso durante la nostra serata.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Solo Exhibition<\/strong>, 19 – 24 November\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n MACRO, Contemporary Art Museum, Rome<\/strong><\/p>\n The Macro Museum invited Penelope into the Atelier of the museum and they asked the artist to bring her studio on to their premises for an entire week. Her presence was also a performance as visitors could watch her working inside a glass cubicle where she created her art while facing an additional challenge.<\/p>\n This solo exhibition is an innovative project: the artist was present the whole time, active in the creation of the exhibition and of her works of art. The concept behind the exhibition is to experience the backstage of the artist at work, rather than just the exhibition to silent visitors of finished works of art, hanging on the wall.<\/p>\n During that week visitors all had a chance to see the artist in a glass box, she was studying, sketching, drawing, painting and building her artworks.
