From November 19 to 24, 2019 – Rome – MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome<\/p>\n
The MACRO Museum has invited Penelope to hold an \u201cAtelier\u201d, a solo show created in front of the visitors for a working week. The artist will be present the whole week, producing her artwork and showing the making of an exhibition itself, that will only be fully ready on the last day. The concept of the show is to see the backstage of the artist\u2019s work, and not just the finished works themselves.<\/p>\n
During this week the audience will see the artist in a glass box, reading, studying, sketching, drawing, painting and building her artwork. Sometimes she will be fully concentrated, sometimes she will be relaxing, sometimes she will be talking to people. At one point in the show even astrophysicist P. Memeo will take part to the discussion, adding the scientific concepts on which Penelope\u2019s artworks are often based upon.<\/p>\n

Questa mostra personale \u00e8 un progetto innovativo, nel quale l’artista sar\u00e0 presente l’intera settimana, attiva nella realizzazione della mostra e delle opere stesse, che saranno pronte solo l’ultimo giorno. Il concetto della mostra \u00e8 quello di vedere il backstage dell’artista all’opera, invece che la mostra delle opere gi\u00e0 finite, appese e in silente assenza del pubblico.<\/span><\/p>\n Durante questa settimana i visitatori potranno vedere l’artista all’interno di un box di vetro; la vedranno leggere, studiare, abbozzare, disegnare, dipingere e costruire le sue opere. Alcune volte sar\u00e0 concentrata nel suo lavoro, altre volte si star\u00e0 rilassando, altre volte parler\u00e0 al pubblico. A un certo punto della mostra interverr\u00e0 anche l’astrofisico P. Memeo, che prendendo parte alla discussione aggiunger\u00e0 quei concetti scientifici sui quali le opere di Penelope spesso si basano.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
