Abstract portraits<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]The origins of Abstract art go back to the beginning of the twentieth century as an answer to the experience of artists in a world of continuous change and modernisation. Those were years marked by industrialisation, mass production and the technical reproduction of images. It was precisely against this epoch-making change in society that artists began to appreciate and focus on what went beyond the simple reproduction of real images<\/strong> and endeavoured to express the emotion and feeling below the superficial form of things. Thus was born the abstract representation of reality through shapes, lines and colours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With a lens pointed towards the study of humanity that is more universal, Penelope uses abstract art as an instrument to get under the skin of people and reach that subterranean archetypal flow that unites them by slender threads. An abstract portrait that is made one and linked indissolubly with the person depicted<\/strong> but represented through those symbols that at the same time make the subject unique and universal in the flow of life and the story of the ages.<\/p>\n

This was the very period that Carl Gustav Jung discovered the human psyche is unique in the time it which it finds itself, but it is also universal, as it is immersed in that flow called the \u201ccollective unconscious\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. It is precisely in this subterranean flow that the symbols of humanity have their origin: those forms that are repeated in many societies and that represent human expressions that can be considered uniform to all cultures. So, in our personal subterranean life, in our emotions in our sufferances and expression of passion we continue undeterred to state still that we all come from the same force, the same creative energy\u00a0 and we are therefore still \u201cstardust\u201d<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Astrattismo nasce agli inizi del Novecento in risposta all\u2019esperienza degli artisti di un mondo in continuo mutamento e modernizzazione. Erano quelli i tempi dell\u2019affermazione dell\u2019industrializzazione, della produzione di massa e della riproduzione tecnica delle immagini. \u00c8 proprio di fronte a questa svolta epocale della societ\u00e0 che gli artisti cominciano a valorizzare ci\u00f2 che \u00e8 al di l\u00e0 della pura riproduzione dell\u2019immagine reale<\/strong>, cercando di esprimere l\u2019emozione e il sentimento sotto la forma superficiale delle cose. Nasce cos\u00ec la rappresentazione astratta della realt\u00e0, attraverso forme, linee e colori<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Con una lente orientata alla ricerca dell\u2019umanit\u00e0 pi\u00f9 universale, Penelope utilizza l\u2019astrattismo come strumento per arrivare oltre la pelle delle persone, a quel flusso sotterraneo archetipico che le unisce attraverso fili sottili. Un ritratto astratto si rende unico e legato indissolubilmente alla persona ritratta<\/strong>, ma questa viene rappresentata attraverso quei simboli che la rendono allo stesso tempo unica e universale nello scorrere della vita e della sua storia nei secoli.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carl Gustav Jung scopre proprio in questo periodo che la psiche umana \u00e8 unica nel suo punto temporale, ma anche universale, in quanto immersa nello scorrere di quel flusso che chiama \u201cinconscio collettivo\u201d<\/em><\/strong>. Proprio da questo fiume sotterraneo originano i simboli dell\u2019umanit\u00e0, quelle forme che si ripetono in tante societ\u00e0 e che rappresentano espressioni umane uniformabili a tutte le culture. Dunque, nel nostro personale vissuto sotterraneo, nelle nostre emozioni, nelle nostre sofferenze ed espressioni passionali continuiamo imperterriti ad affermare ancora che veniamo tutti dalla stessa forza, dalla stessa energia creatrice, e siamo quindi ancora \u201ctutti polvere di stelle\u201d<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_separator type=”transparent”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

His career began in the years following the second World War and is studded with pieces that are very different from each other: from large-scale public works to designer items.<\/p>\n

Penelope and Alcide are great friends and, at their frequent meetings, discuss their art and their ideas at length, feeding each other\u2019s thoughts and poetics, straddling two generations as far apart as you can get. This work is the combination of the friendship, esteem and gratitude that binds the two artists. Penelope actually decided to give form to the distinctive works and temperament of Alcide, the nonagenarian with his lively, active spirit, and then present it to the artist. This work is the abstract portrait of Alcide Fontanesi: with symbols and allegories<\/strong> it brings out the forms that are dearest to him and shows his enterprising and visionary character<\/strong>. The work releases the energy of the two artists, highlighting Alcide\u2019s artistic path and exploding in Penelope\u2019s incisive work.<\/p>\n

Alcide Fontanesi<\/strong> \u00e8 un artista poliedrico che con la sua arte spazia dalla pittura alla scultura<\/strong>, sperimentando forme inconsuete. La sua carriera inizia nel secondo dopoguerra ed \u00e8 costellata da pezzi estremamente diversi tra loro: dalle opere pubbliche di grandi dimensioni agli oggetti di design. <\/span><\/p>\n

Penelope e Alcide sono grandi amici, e nei loro frequenti incontri si dilungano a discutere della loro arte e delle loro idee, alimentando vicendevolmente i propri pensieri e poetiche, a cavallo di due generazioni totalmente distanti. Quest\u2019opera \u00e8 insieme l\u2019amicizia, la stima e la gratitudine che lega i due artisti. Penelope infatti ha deciso di esprimere i tratti distintivi e il temperamento di Alcide, ultranovantenne dallo spirito vivo e attivo, per poi darla in dono all\u2019artista.
