Macro Cosmos
Science has shown that the earth and the life on it were forged by stars born after the Big Bang exploding. In fact, only three elements were created during the Big Bang: helium, hydrogen and lithium; all the other elements were born afterwards as the result of the extreme heat and pressure inside stars. This is why human beings, like all nature, consist of stardust, atoms from space.
The infinity mirrors of this series are based on this concept, and on the concept of universality and equality that they demonstrate in their simplicity. We all consist of the same chemical elements and we are part of a single complex system that underlies physical rules themselves.
Collectiveness and union are the driving thoughts for the creation of this work that intends to awaken feelings of belonging we have now forgotten. The link between humans and nature is powerful and vigorous, we are inseparable from the world around us that regulates our existence with its universal laws.
La scienza ha dimostrato che la Terra e la sua vita sono state create dall’esplosione delle stelle, nate dopo il Big Bang. Durante il Big Bang, infatti, furono creati solo tre elementi: elio, idrogeno e litio; tutti gli altri elementi nacquero successivamente, grazie all’estrema pressione e calore presenti dentro alle stelle. Per questa ragione l’essere umano, come tutta la natura, è composto di pulviscolo stellare, atomi provenienti dallo spazio.
Le opere di questa serie si basano su queste sei parole – We are all made of stardust – e sul concetto di universalità e uguaglianza che nella loro semplicità manifestano. Siamo tutti composti degli stessi elementi chimici e siamo parte di un unico sistema complesso che sottostà alle stesse regole fisiche.
Collettività e unione sono i pensieri guida per la creazione di quest’opera che cerca di risvegliare sentimenti di appartenenza oggi ormai dimenticati. Il legame tra uomo e natura è potente ed energico, siamo inseparabili dal mondo che ci circonda e che regola il nostro esistere con le sue leggi universali.
Some artworks of this series are real reproductions of the Boreal and Austral skies, specific constellations or, again, the sky on specific dates. How were the star-studded skies seen on a particular night at given point on earth.
These works are an expanse of sky on a given date in the past and the future: dates of birth or historical events. Through this work the artist links the microcosmos with macrocosmos: humankind with the celestial.
Le opere Star Gate contenenti le mappe stellari sono vere e proprie riproduzioni del cielo Boreale, del cielo Australe, di specifiche costellazioni o, ancora, di specifiche date. Come si vedeva il cielo stellato di una specifica notte in un dato punto della terra.
Queste opere sono la traccia del cielo di precise date del passato e del futuro: date di nascita o di eventi storici. L’artista con questa pratica collega il microcosmo al microcosmo: l’uomo al celeste.
